The Time has come again for us to select this year’s Mr. and Ms. Madison, an award where students recognize each other for their commitment, dedication, and model representation for our University. This prestigious honor will be presented during the half time portion of the Homecoming Football game, Saturday October 24th. The award will go to one graduating senior male and female the student body feels best exemplifies the characteristics of our school.
If your club/organization wishes to do so, you may nominate one graduating male and/or one graduating female for this year’s award. Your nominees do not necessarily have to be a part of your club/organization nominees have been selected, a panel of students and faculty will narrow the applicant pool based on the applications and select the top ten men and ten women semifinalists. Each semifinalist will then go through an interview process consisting of a twenty-minute session per candidate. The process will be held on Friday, October 12th and Saturday October 13th. Voting for the top four male and top four female finalists is set for Wednesday, October 24th through Thursday, October 25th at 5 p.m. online on BeInvolved.
Once your club/organization has nominated one graduating male and/or one graduating female, please have them fill out the application. There will also be applications available at the SGA Office on the Vice President’s desk. Please have your graduating senior nominee(s) complete the application/personal statement and letter of recommendation and turn it in along with a picture of him/her. The written application, along with a five dollar application fee in the form of a check made out to the Student Government Association, will be due to the SGA office in Taylor 203 to Vice President Alicia Pettis’ inbox no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, October 8th. This fee goes to application processing. Lastly, the letter of recommendation must be from a member of the nominating organization.
